Tasting notes
Black currant, smoked brisket, black pepper, licorice, and blood orange, the 2019 Vineyard Selection blend of Syrah and Tempranillo opens up savory and meaty on the nose. Swirling brings black olive tapenade, candied cherry, hoisin sauce, and hints of crushed flowers and seaweed. The mouthfeel is plush, soft and complex, with silky tannins, balanced acidity and wonderful length. The wine finishes savory and juicy, but with enough sweetness to back it up. A layered blend that you can drink now or in the next 10 years

93pts - Owen Bargreen: The 2019 ‘Stoneridge Vineyard’ Syrah comes from this esteemed site known for world-class Syrah which is located in the Royal Slope AVA. 33% Tempranillo has been blended in, as this shows off wonderful viscosity on the mouth. Earl grey tea with dusty soils combine with espresso grounds, creosote and salted beef carpaccio on the palate. Really good now, enjoy over the next ten years. Drink 2022-2032- 93
93pts - Vinous/Eric Guido: A captivating blend of crushed blackberries and olive tapenade mix with violet florals as the 2019 Vineyard Series Stoneridge comes to life in the glass. This blend of 67% Syrah and 33% Tempranillo impresses further with juicy, round textures and zesty acidity that enlivens the mineral-drenched black fruits within. Lightly tannic yet aiming to please, the 2019 finishes with a staining of rum-soaked currants and licorice that lingers for up to a minute. Very nice.
91pts - James Suckling:
This is toasty with smoked plums and blackberries with walnut, vanilla and asphalt. Full-bodied with firm tannins and chalky texture. Juicy fruit character and spicy finish with some chewiness to it. 67% syrah and 33% tempranillo. Drink or hold.
