2020 Boneyard Red
Tasting notes
Blueberry jam, boysenberry and black cherry with violet floral aromas dominate the first impression. Swirling the glass brings forth macerated raspberries, plum and fennel. The palate expresses notes of black fruits, plum skin, cranberries, wood spice and saffron. This medium-bodied wine shows dense, but smooth, tannin structure and lively acidity. The 2020 Boneyard is a vibrant and youthful approach to the Rhone varietal and creates a fruitforward and drinkable wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with food.

Boom! The aromas erupt from the glass, with notes of blueberry, huckleberry, green stem, cigar box, flower, olive, orange rind, and a whiff of medicine. Full-feeling, palate-coating black fruit flavors follow. There’s a quinine note throughout that one will either find as a grace note or slightly distracting. Overall, it’s an impressive wine for the money. 13.8% alcohol. Synthetic cork. 630 cases produced.
Gård Vintners is 100% estate grown sustainably at Lawrence Vineyards in the Royal Slope AVA. Lawrence Vineyards features seven distinct vineyard sites with elevations ranging 930 feet to 1,675 feet. The combination of elevation and south-facing slope provides a great framework for grape production, while the diversity of the seven locations delivers a high level of complexity to Gård wines. Lawrence Vineyards is certified sustainable by Vinewise.org.
