2020 Vaucluse
Tasting notes
Plums, mocha, black cherry, and hints of violets. The 2020 Vaucluse has a dense core of black fruit and smoke flavors, surrounded by floral and spicy notes.
The mouthfeel is youthful, with fine tannins and lifted acidity. There is a sweet and savory component in the background that makes the wine almost crunchy. This beautiful Rhone blend finishes long with a touch of oak spice and can be enjoyed now or in the next 8 years.
Other notes
Inspired by the Vaucluse department in the south of France, this Rhone blend is harvested from the fertile soils of our estate vineyard near Royal City in the Columbia Valley. Our Vaucluse is a reflection of the finest wines of the namesake region, located due east of France's Gard department. Within the Vaucluse lies Mondragon, a small village bearing the surname of our esteemed vineyard manager, Isidro Mondragon.

93pts - International Wine Report / Jeremy Young: "About 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache comprise the 2020 Vaucluse from Gard. It needs a minute to open up in the glass, but when ready, it exposes notes of black plum, boysenberry, singed dried herbs, crushed peppercorn, olive, and candied violets. Fine tannins combine with mouthwatering acidity and a savory lengthy finish. 427 cases made."
