Tasting notes
An old time classic from Gård, the 2022 Freyja is explosive on the nose and showcases the elegance and lift of a cooler vintage. Intense notes of white pear, nectarine, chamomile, white flowers, brioche, and wet stones at the start. The wine opens beautifully to riper aromas of peach marmalade, dried apricots, and raw honey, without losing its florality and mineral lift. The roundness and precision of the mouthfeel here are impeccable. Flavors of stone fruit, tangerine, and Williams pear dominate the palate, where the acidity and tension are remarkable. Juicy and energetic, the wine has outstanding weight, texture, and length. Another fantastic version of Freyja that you can enjoy now or in the next 5 years.

93pts - International Wine Report / Jeremy Young: "Always one of my favorites from Gard year after year, this 2022 Freja blend comprises 74% Viognier, 22% Roussanne, and 4% Muscadelle. It’s really good and showcases what a good winemaker can do with these varietals in Washington State. Boasting scintillating notes of roasted pear, white tea, white peach, dried mint, crushed stone, and sweet baking spice, it has excellent tension, a medium to full body, and a lovely stone fruit and spicy finish. What an incredible wine for the price point. 1410 cases made. Editor’s choice. "

92pts - Critic’s Choice - Northwest Wine Report/ Sean Sullivan
Viognier (74%) makes up most of this wine, so much so that it could almost be varietally labeled. The rest is Roussanne (22%) and Muscadelle. The aromas are redolent with notes of apricot, peach, and flower. Dry, plentiful stone fruit flavors follow, with abundant floral accents. Peach notes linger on the finish. Lively acidity brightens it all. Each variety plays its part well in this delicious, well-priced offering. 13.8% alcohol. TCA-free micro-agglomerated cork. 1,140 cases produced.

91pts -  Owen Bargreen - " This edition of the Rhone-inspired ‘Freyja’ has 4% Muscadelle blended in and is mainly Viognier (74%).  Showing good nerve, this offers white peach and pink grapefruit flavors alongside good minerality and salty tones on the palate. Drink 2023-2028- 91"

90pts - Vinous/ Eric Guido
The 2022 Freyja lifts from the glass with a sweetly scented bouquet that shows white flowers and ripe melon complimented by a suggestion of fresh mint. This is zesty and freson the palate, with vibrant acidity elevating tropical citrus and saline minerals add contrast toward the close.
