Tasting notes
All Mourvèdre and with a deep purple color, this is the first natural, sans soufre red wine Gård has ever made. The wine begins with a ripe, sexy nose of blueberries, plums, violets, and bacon fat, with hints of black pepper, cigar box, and dried herbs. Swirling brings tart black fruits, black currant, and a beautiful floral lift. The palate is medium-bodied, viscous but fresh, with incredible intensity, bright acidity, and insane length. The more you swirl, the riper the wine gets, with notes of black cherry, blackberry compote, and hints of ground coffee. Remarkably well structured, the wine shows firm tannins and an outstanding, mineral finish. A hedonistic new wine that will give your senses both a challenge and a treat. Beautiful now, enjoy for the next 6 years.

About Sans Soufre
Sans Soufre, a French abbreviation for “no sulfur dioxide added,” is synonymous with natural wine. Our Sans Soufre wines undergo a natural fermentation without added yeast or sulfur. A secondary malolactic fermentation softens the wine with a creamy texture. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

93pts Critic’s Choice - Northwest Wine Report/ Sean Sullivan
Fruit for this wine comes from Thunderstone Vineyard. The aromas are very primary, with notes of black currant, whole cranberry, black pepper, and dark plum. The flavors are full-bodied, palate-coating, and achingly pure. Vibrant acidity keeps it all in focus and provides tension. It’s absolutely outstanding. I haven’t had another Mourvèdre in the state like it. It’s the purity that separates it far from the pack. 12.4 % alcohol. TCA-free micro-agglomerated cork. 65 cases produced.

2022 Gard ‘Sans Soufre’ Mourvedre- This beautiful and earthy 2022 bottling comes from the

and smoked meats on the palate, with stony and earthy accents. Drink 2023-2029-
Gård Vintners is 100% estate grown sustainably at Lawrence Vineyards, featuring eight distinct vineyard sites in the Royal Slope AVA. With elevations that range 930 feet to 1,675 feet and primarily a south-facing slope, Lawrence Vineyards provides a great framework for grape production, while the diversity of each of the locations delivers a high level of complexity to Gård wines. We also farm vineyards on the Wahluke Slope and Conner Lee in the Columbia Valley. Lawrence Vineyards is certified sustainable by Vinewise.org.
