Tasting notes
All Roussanne and with a pale amber color, this is the first natural, sans soufre white wine Gård has ever made. The nose here is remarkably pure and layered, with intense notes of white pear, candied ginger, ripe papaya, dried apricot, and sweet herbs. Swirling brings citrus notes of lemon zest, orange peel, and grapefruit, as well as white flowers, raw honey, and bergamot tea. The mouthfeel is vibrant but textured, with a beautiful combination of ripe stone fruits, citrus flavors, and dried herbs. Extremely complex and with great acidity, the palate is intense and dynamic and keeps evolving the longer it sits in the glass. The wine finishes very long, with a kiss of citrus sweetness and a crunchy grip that makes you crave another sip. A hedonistic new wine that will give your senses both a challenge and a treat. Beautiful now, enjoy for the next 4 years.

About Sans Soufre
Sans Soufre, a French abbreviation for “no sulfur dioxide added,” is synonymous with natural wine. Our Sans Soufre wines undergo a natural fermentation without added yeast or sulfur. A secondary malolactic fermentation softens the wine with a creamy texture. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

92pts - Owen Bargreen
2022 Gard ‘Sans Soufre’ Roussanne- Bright in the glass, this natural wine shows beautiful
range on the nose with beeswax, pineapple and shades of papaya on the nose. The palate
shows serious weight and tannin with refined melon and tropical notes that play in unison.
This is really well-done. Drink 2023-2029
92pts - Critic’s Choice - Northwest Wine Report/ Sean Sullivan
This wine is cloudy and slightly orange in color. The aromas are bright, with notes of wet stone in front of green mango, ginger, whole mandarin orange wedge, flower, and dried apricot. The palate is dry, beautifully balanced, and textured. There are bitters on the finish. It’s a compelling offering of this style, equal parts intellectual interest and hedonism – all exquisitely executed. 13.6% alcohol. TCA-free micro-agglomerated cork. 54 cases produced.
Gård Vintners is 100% estate grown sustainably at Lawrence Vineyards, featuring eight distinct vineyard sites in the Royal Slope AVA. With elevations that range 930 feet to 1,675 feet and primarily a south-facing slope, Lawrence Vineyards provides a great framework for grape production, while the diversity of each of the locations delivers a high level of complexity to Gård wines. We also farm vineyards on the Wahluke Slope and Conner Lee in the Columbia Valley. Lawrence Vineyards is certified sustainable by Vinewise.org.
